Evaluating Sources: Review Articles

It is important to investigate and evaluate all sources. Whether a Web site or in paper, the same criteria basically apply for both.

What are review articles?

Review articles (secondary literature) in the sciences:

  • Summarize other people's primary literature articles
  • Good place to start to understand a topic or to get an overview
  • Easy to find: any article (especially in medicine) that has the word "review" in the title.

Often books in the sciences are overviews.
