Unfortunately, the mini screening room is no longer available. It was needed for office space. Please see the other options listed in this guide.
(If you'd like to see a mini screening room reinstated in the future, please leave a suggestion in our comment box at the front desk.)
If the screening is open to the public, licensing rights must be obtained. This is true even if the event is held on campus, is free and is intended to contribute to cultural and intellectual growth. Check out our Public Performance Rights (PPR) page for more information about what constitutes a "public" screening.
Faculty have the option of putting DVDs on reserve for students in their courses. The DVDs are kept behind the service desks and circulated for only a limited time period, usually four hours. Students can ask for the films at the appropriate service desk.
To see what films are on reserve, click on Reserves on the Colby Libraries home page. (The orange tab should now be on Reserves.) It is possible to search by professor's name or class number.
Students can watch DVDs in unoccupied classrooms.
All DVD players in classrooms play multi-region, standard or Blu-ray discs.
