Need some quick help or a reminder on how to use the catalog, do an ILL, search a database?  The Libraries now have a series of video tutorials that will help!  Many come from our own library pages, and some are from other academic libraries, but they are all a quick and easy way to answer your research questions from any computer, any time.

Find Articles (Core Databases)

  • Interdisciplinary databases
  • Academic Search Complete
    • A general topic database with scholarly and non-scholarly material, this is an excellent place to start a search because of its interdisciplinary nature.  You can easily limit to peer-reviewed sources if you wish.
  • Scopus
    • Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, features smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. Scopus delivers an overview of the world's research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences and arts and humanities.
  • Find Maps (U.N.)
    • This United Nations service is a great source of basic maps, as well as maps that describe the movements of political, social, and military events over time.
  • Anthropological databases
  • AnthroSource
    • An online service of the American Anthropological Association, AnthroSource offers access to more than a century of full-text anthropological knowledge, across the breadth and depth of the discipline.
  • Anthropology Plus
    • A compilation of the Anthropological Index Online and Anthropological Literature databases, this resource is an extensive index of bibliographic materials covering the fields of anthropology, archaeology, and related interdisciplinary research.
  • Annual Review of Anthropology
    • In publication since 1972, this source covers significant developments in the subfields of Anthropology, including archaeology, biological anthropology, linguistics and communicative practices, regional studies and international anthropology, and sociocultural anthropology.
