Author = significant people associated with a film, e.g. actor, director, composer, screenwriter

Find DVDs and Videos

Most DVDs in Miller Library are in the stacks on the main floor. (Entrance near the stairway in the large study room.) They are arranged by Library of Congress call numbers, which are noted in each CBBcat record; Most VHS tapes are kept in our storage facility.

DVDs at Bates and Bowdoin and VHS tapes at Colby Storage can be ordered by clicking on CBB Request in the CBBcat catalog record.

DVDs and Videos placed on Reserve by faculty can be requested at the Service Desk of the library (Miller, Bixler or Olin) noted in the CBBcat record.


How Long Can I Keep It?

Colby Faculty & Students: one (1) week; subject to immediate recall for classroom use.

Courtesy Borrowers: in library use only.

Films on Reserve usually circulate for four (4) hours.


Videos/DVDs may also be borrowed from other libraries in Maine via MaineCat. Most loan periods are for one (1) week.

Videos from other institutions are subject to immediate recall for use by the home institution.

Videos are often difficult to obtain on Interlibrary Loan. Please consult with the ILL staff at Miller Library.
